Demands and Needs

This product meets the demands and needs of individuals domiciled in the UK who wish to insure against their legal liability for the following and which arise through their activities as a beauty therapist student:

  1. negligence or breach of duty of care to their client
  2. personal injury to third parties or damage to their property
  3. property damage or personal injury caused by defective products
  4. pollution or contamination of the atmosphere or of any water, land or other tangible property

Capacity and Service

The Beauty Therapist Student Insurance policy with HCC International Insurance Company plc provides cover for the duration of your course. It is not renewable.

  • In sourcing this policy we act as your agent
  • In placing this policy we act as your agent
  • In the event of a claim we will act as your agent

We are under a contractual obligation to conduct insurance distribution exclusively with one or the insurance undertaking listed above. For this insurer we have taken the following into account:

  • Their level of service
  • Premium cost
  • Their expertise in this field
  • The length of time they have been established
  • Their specialism in this type of insurance

Remuneration

For this policy, the nature and basis of remuneration we receive is:
When we sell you the policy the insurer pays us a percentage commission from the total premium.   
You are entitled at any time to request information regarding any remuneration which we may receive.
This document is not intended to be a statement of cover.  You should read the policy wording for full details of the cover provided and any restrictions or exclusions applying and ensure that you are aware of any limitations of the insurance purchased.

Cancellation Rights

You have the right to cancel your policy within 14 days of going on cover or receiving your policy documentation, whichever is later. This is referred to as a ‘cooling off’ period. If you exercise your right to cancel your policy your insurer will charge you for the period during which you were covered, and other charges may be applied to cover the insurer’s and our costs in arranging the cancelled policy. If you have made a claim or one has been made against you during the period of cover, you will not receive a refund. To enable the insurer to process the cancellation you will need to return certificates and any official documents to our office within 30 days of notifying us of your wish to cancel. 

Notification of incidents/claims

All claims or incidents should be reported immediately and directly to the insurer. Please refer to the policy wording for contact information and details of claims conditions applicable to this insurance

Complaints

It is our intention to provide you with the highest possible level of customer service at all times. However, we recognise that things can go wrong occasionally and if this occurs, we are committed to resolving matters promptly and fairly.
